I’ve been described as a “woodsy Mary Poppins,” with a habit of befriending crows, learning to co-exist with urban coyotes, and pocketing sea-glass found on many beachcombing strolls. I’m known to enthusiastically rehome information, and my community college students have said that I’m, “sympathetic, but with a blunt sense of humor.”

I carefully tend an ecosystem of identity, which includes labels like: queer, autistic, adoptee, mama, celebrant of joyful expression, and professor. I’m also a selkie, so you might bump into me wild swimming in the Salish Sea.
